Despite it's fairly novel start, the story's pacing can feel rushed (at least in the manga) and sometimes dull as it devolves into a standard template isekai, where the MC finds himself in unbeatable situations but uses the power of friendship to power through.

Re:Monster has an extremely fresh start, with the main character finding himself reincarnated as a goblin. Yet, even with its great premise, the story's pacing incredibly pushed in both web novel and manga with a huge portion of the main character's life happening under a year. Furthermore, it becomes a total power fantasy, where practically nothing stops the main character from obtaining strength. Hopefully the anime remedies some of these issues, or at least directs its efforts into good animation and voiced acting, but only time can tell!
