Summary Review of The Breakdown
Aired in Winter of 2023, The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World unfortunately brings little to the table in terms of plot and animation, and even less in the voice acting department. Although the show starts off with an interesting premise and underdog story in the first episode, it quickly disintegrates into air as the main protagonist, Seika, overpowers and overshadows any semblance of development for anybody. Furthermore, voice acting feels very bland with the main protagonist showing quite literally one emotion the entire show. Although the animation leaves much to be desired, it doesn't fall short of most other shows in the genre.
Overall, if you enjoy power-fantasy shows and want to watch a character "struggle" along in an unfamiliar world, watch this! Otherwise, don't feel too bad about watching another show.
Credited as the main studio, Studio Blanc., formed in September of 2008, has a very short history as a main studio behind TV anime, with their first TV anime airing in 2011. The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World is this company's first foray into Isekai.

3D
Commonly appearing when monsters are summoned, magic is used, or basically anything that isn't Seika's mediums, 3D appears to frequently and too poorly to immerse the viewer into the world. The monster in the image below demonstrates this, with it appearing on the screen for an entire action sequence in multiple episodes. Furthermore, certain weapons and moving objects frequently pop up on screen to set the scene, however these moments truly disengage the eyes and frustratingly breaks immersion.
Incredibly 3D enemy.
Special Effects
Special effects in the show come in many forms. The best use of special effects come in the form when Seika summons creatures from his previous world. Here, they use the classic Japanese "egasumi" pattern of fog, combined with various checkering to create an eye-catching and unique effect. However, lighting effects such as the image show below typically have very strong colors, like the huge amount of green bleeding through. These subpar usage of effects penetrate every episode and creates a jarring experience.
Green window light fill creates a strange mood in an otherwise happy scene.
The most outstanding part of the character art in this show are the main character's eyes. As show below, the eyes have another set of dark circles within, creating a pattern that uniquely stands out against other anime. However, the overall color palette of characters, the line density and thickness, and facial shape all seem incredibly generic and unoriginal.
Eyes have circles inside them right before the pupil creating a somewhat distinct look.
Background art in this show is usually very clearly 3D. However, this oddly doesn't detract too much from the show, as it helps create a distinct depth to the environments while not drawing too much attention to itself. As backgrounds to look uncannily uninteresting, they perform the job well.
3D Castle City in the opening scene.
Starting off with an intense opening of the main character, Seika Lamprogue's past life, The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World really uses it's hook well. The first three episodes really explain Seika's unfortunate circumstances and then proceed to show the difference in his abilities compared to everyone else after he realizes he could use his previous life's power. However, in terms of world-building consistency, many things fall through. Despite being an extremely powerful figure both politically and physically in his past life, he acts as if he has no idea how the upper class works. Furthermore, he blatantly solves case after case but literally no one questions him despite his frequent usage of his powers. Unfortunately, the story takes a turn for the worse after episode 3 where it becomes increasingly standard, following similar story tropes to many other Isekai shows.
Voice Acting
Despite having a seasoned cast of voice actors, The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World's voice acting fails to impress on basically any level. Monotony penetrates almost every character in the show, Seika being the worst offender. Most of his voice lines have very tiny inflectional differences to show emotion, though are usually obvious enough to tell what he's feeling at any given point. However, if at any point you lose focus on his voice, it becomes fairly apparent that you might lose yourself trying to discern whether he's shocked or unimpressed because of the monotonous and flat delivery of lines.
Soundtrack
Neither opening by angela nor the various endings leave a big impression on you when listening to them. Opening-wise, it almost sounds like its from the early 2000's, with the classic "action"-y feel of Shounen themes interlaced with the Japanese instruments at the start. For the both the normal endings sung by various cast members, and the special ending by Sou, neither truly sticks out as anything special among AniSongs. Although the third episode does have the special ending, it's fairly muted in the background as characters talk over it and doesn't stick out too differently from the original endings. Neither sound effects nor background tracks stand out either.
